Mise En Scene Analysis In this shot from the film spike island we get to see the four main characters all lined up together, with them in front of a brick wall which connotes it is set in an industrial, low wealth area. Also there are gig posters on the wall suggesting what the film is going to be focused on. From the clothes that the characters are wearing you see that they are still in school because of the school uniform, and the way that that there uniforms are very untidy (untucked shirt, unbuttoned top shirt button and their own shoes) it connotes that they don't care about there apearance and don't really respect the school. also from the jackets and their hairstyles that this film is set in 1990's. And stereotypically this kind of target audience follow football and will know who Joe Hart is because he is a high profile goalkeeper being the ex England no1 and played for manchester city for many years winning trophies. The news value of this event isn't as big as it should be in the uk because of how geographical far away this country is from uk even though a lot of children died there still wasn't much coverage.
